Top of the Morning to ya!

I can say that with an Irish accent, I do have lots of Irish blood in my veins...lol No Irish Luck though, but that's another story..hahaha! Just getting a few minutes to read my blogs and read the comments left for me...we have been overly busy with stuff and haven't had time to work on the tree much.
What is listed on here is probably all the information that I have, I have a few records of stuff printed in a binder, but most of that information can be found at ancestry.com or familysearch.org, or through public cemetary records, or through genweb. I get a lot of requests for perifial names on our tree, and I can honestly tell you that we didn't devote a lot of time to research those names because we were originally just going through the main line. Any names that were not in our direct line are simply listed but not researched. I wish I had the time to devote to those ancestors, but for now they will have to wait.
I will try to add all the updated info at some point, when I have the time to cut and paste and edit and such...hope the info I have listed is helpful and if you have corrections or additions to add let me know and I will get them posted at least in my computer for now.

I am trying to work on a few of the corrections from the tree and post a few more photos, but finding the time is another story...life is busy when you work full time and raise kids...lol
Hope you like the new look, yes, I also have to re-do my background page so the whole pictures show on it, some smaller screens cut off half of the bottom picture...lol
So I will try to make that adjustment and re-upload it later today.

Does that mean blonde? Oh, I don’t guess it matters…but I have lots of Tuesday born children and they are all blonde? lol The things I get side tracked on these days astound me…lol I try to amuse myself so I don’t get all down worse and be a gloomy gus…anyhow…enough of that rambling…I have a purpose today for blogging…

First since I have re-designed the blog I thought I would show you the kits I made and then you can see how I designed these…

Are you feeling like we are these days? The economy is awful and it makes us nervous as to whether or not we are going to go under with it…tony is looking for a job as soon as he is released…maybe then we can climb out of this hole….lol

We were working on our tree and found a little bit of info on the goar side of the family, then our internet started having issues so now we have lost a whole week of time that we could have been searching for stuff.

Any way, I will try to get my stuff updated and uploaded soon.

Good Winter Morning to y'all!

We have been working on our tree info for the last few weeks...I hope to get all the errors that you all have emailed me with corrected and re-uploaded...of course, life keeps getting in my way. I had a half a day off yesterday and I had so many plans for it, but they just seems to wash away with the tide...before I knew it, it was 4:30 and the kids were home...then the homework/dinner/baths/laundry/bedtime routine kicks in....so drop me a line and say hi...we are trying to get a few things done and I will post the corrected info soon...

We are having the auction again this year so please bring something to auction off. Our auction last year raised enough money to pay for this year's mailing and the hall last year. This year we need to raise enough to pay for the hall again.

I have a few comments on here already...MeganLee I emailed you back...Tammy I need you email address...and Christine, I need your email address too!
And yes, I realize there are several mistakes, there are over 78,000 names in this tree and I am sure some of the typos are mine...but alot of them are made over the years too...On the Wooddell side of the family Anthony's poor great great grandfather's name was missed spelled more than it was spelled right....which makes it a bear to trace...so if I have mistakes please let me know...gently...lol
And I am sure there are some mix-ups on here too...common names are repeated more than you will ever imagine...so let me know which infomation is the right information for our family...after I search through all those records for hours and hours I get a little silly...lol
I know you can't imagine that! lol
I am working a bit on the Gibson tree of my mom's side right now since I have spent some time with that side of the family and I have filled in lots of the holes that I had on it....lol
I am still installing all my programs and such, but as soon as I do I will also try to upload some pics for you...

SIR: I have the honor to report that on Saturday, September 19, about 4. 30, my regiment, numbering 735 rank and file and 29 officers of the line, together with 3 field officers, crossed the Chickamauga Creek, and after moving forward about 2 miles formed in line of battle about sundown. The regiment occupied the position on the right of Gen. Deshler's brigade, the right of which brigade rested on the left of Gen. Wood's brigade. We immediately moved forward, passing over the brigade of Gen. Preston Smith, and at a distance of about 600 yards we met the enemy. My company of skirmishers, which had been instructed to keep well to the front, being misled by t he darkness of the night, had come unexpectedly upon the enemy's line of battle and had been captured. After a short engagement with the enemy, especially upon the right of my command, he was routed with considerable loss in killed and wounded, and about 100 prisoners, principally form the Seventy-ninth Pennsylvania Regt.'s, together with the colors of each of these regiments and most of their field officers; also about 150 stand of small-arms, during which time the company of skirmishers made their escape. In the engagement I lost 4 killed and 7 or 8 wounded. The honor of capturing the colors belongs to Private L. Montgomery, of Company B, and Sergt. C. Martin and Private Pippen of Company K. Sergt. J. H. Griffin, of Company I, distinguished himself by his gallantry and coolness in taking command of his company when the only commissioned officer in it was absent and could not be found. I recommend that he be promoted to lieutenant. During this engagement I received a slight wound which partially disabled me, in consequence of which the command devolved on Lieut.-Col. Coit and Maj. Taylor. Having driven the enemy from the field, the action closed about 8 o'clock, and we bivouacked on the battle-field. On Sunday morning, an hour before daylight, we reformed our line of battle and threw up temporary breastworks. Between 9 and 10 o'clock we were again ordered to the front. After advancing about 600 yards through the timber, we came upon an open field completely commanded by the enemy's batteries, and we made our way at a double-quick step across this field under a most terrific fire of shot and shell, grape and canister. During this movement we lost 8 or 10 men in killed and wounded. Having advanced near the enemy's lines, and finding a brigade already in front of us engaging the enemy, the command was ordered to halt, lie down, and await further orders. Just at this juncture, I received a contused wound upon the right leg which completely disabled me, and in consequence of which I was separated from the command until the close of the action. The officers and men of the command up to this time, with a few dishonorable exceptions already reported, displayed remarkable gallantry. Maj. Taylor, now in command of the regiment, and who was with it during the entire action of the 19th and 20th, will add to this a supplemental report. [OCTOBER 6, 1863] SIR: Being upon the right of the regiment at the time Col. Wilkes was wounded, I was ordered by Gen. Deshler to move the regiment by the right flank.
After proceeding about 300 yards, I was ordered by Gen. Cleburne to front and advance, which I did immediately. The regiment met a regiment of Gen. Wood's brigade retreating from before the enemy (opening our lines to give it egress), and then closing up again, advancing steadily to the crest of the hill immediately in front of the enemy's breastworks, the enemy hastily retiring from before them. Upon arriving at the crest of the hill, we were ordered to halt. It was here the regiment suffered terribly, losing about 200 in killed and wounded, and remained undaunted for three or four hours under a galling and continuous fire of grape, canister, and small-arms until it was ordered order, still keeping a line of sharpshooters near the crest of the hill. Soon after the regiment assumed its new position, it was discovered that the enemy's skirmishers were flanking us on the right. Immediately upon discovering this movement of the enemy I ordered a company out as skirmishers to drive them back, which was done effectually. In a short time the enemy was routed, and the regiment was ordered to bivouac upon the field from which the enemy had been driven.

Claude was a farmer in general trade industry, was working, not a veteran because he lost his leg in 1918 (prior to the war beginning) and was not draftable. I think he was said to have lost his leg in cutting a log accident. That hatchet slipped from the pine knot and hit his knee. It got infected and had to be amputated. He is rumored to have traded and purchased a large amount of land all down in the river bottom of Maydelle. He was also supposed to be given a big amount of land by his uncle Wheeler Phillips when he passed away. But the family has been unable to really research these claims due to parts of the family getting angry over the whole claim.

He then went to truck driving school and worked for a few years as a truck driver hauling firewood and fertile mulch. He was in a deisel truck accident and was severely injured and permanently disabled for the rest of his years. He died from Asbestos related lung and esophageal cancer.

This Robert Bannister appears to be the brother of my G-G-Grandmother Alice Bannister Whitehead. She
sailed from Liverpool, England after her husband died accompanied by her daughter Mary, son Robert&
daughter-in-law Emily in about April,1907. Their final destination was Anniston, Al. Also found Alice's son
Samuel had sailed 6 weeks prior & was joined at the docks by his Uncle Robert Bannister of Anniston, Al. Alice
remained in Al. until her sister Mary died in about 1930. Found Robert at age 26 living with his parents -
Father Robert b. abt. 1828 & mother Alice b. abt. 1827 in the 1881 Census living at 34 Ward St. Hindley
Parish, Lanc.

1920 Longview Tx. Census found a Wiley B. Wooddell married to Texanna (51 yrs. old) with a son James W. -
28 yrs and a son Shaffer W. 19 yrs.

11. James Monroe Wooddell
Born in 1875 in Milam Co Tx....called "Monroe". Married Victoria Dodd from Milam County in Milam County on December 31, 1902 (have certificate of marriage)
He is on the 1900 Milam co census as a boarder named Monrou Woddell.
In 1910 Milam Co census he is listed as Monroe Woodiel with wife Victoria, and Austin.
They all moved to Alabama after Wiley J. was born in 1912. When Wiley J. was four years old and AUstin for
8 years old, still living in Alabama, Monroe got extremely ill and had to be hospitalized. Once he was placed in
the hospital, Victoria Dodd then took the 8 year old Austin and the 4 year old Wiley J. and placed them in an
orphanage and left Alabama. Sometime within the next 4 years of their life Monroe got well enough to leave
the hospital and find the boys in an orphanage and took them back home with him. Then when Wiley J. was
8 and Austin was 12, Monroe died in Alabama and was buried. The boys then "hopped aboard a train" and
caught a ride back to Texas where they supposedly stayed with their Aunt Mary(Mary Frances Wooddell
Bannister) or Aunt Maggie (Maggie Teresa Wooddell). The boys then went their separate ways to work.
Austin then found Nolie Phene Edwards and married her on Oct. 20, 1930 and lived in Cherokee county, Rusk,
Tx. Wiley J. worked on a farm in Cherokee County as a hired hand for a Mrs. and Mr. Linn (sp?). When Mr.
Linn, who had been ill for sometime, died in 1936 he left the home of Mrs. Linn and came to stay with his
brother Austin and Nolie. In February 1936 there was a leap year dance scheduled in town and Nolie's
younger sister Lillian Edwards met Wiley at her sisters house and asked him if he would like to attend the
dance. She said she was just trying to be nice since she knew he didn't know anybody around there. They
went to the dance together and got married 3 months later, on May 23, 1936.

Many years and children later, Lillian was in Alto and saw Victoria Dodd. Then sometime later they went to
visit her in Houston, Harris County, Tx. It was the first time Wiley J. had seen his mother since he was 4
years old. She was very jealous of Lillian and didn't like her being with Wiley J. and attempted to smother her
with a pillow so that Wiley J. would stay there and live with her and her husband Homer Stump.
Then on December 25, 1952 Victoria Dodd Wooddell Stump died of a heart attack. All of Wiley J.'s kids
remember her and said she was a MEAN woman and very cold.
We do have a picture of her in her later years in Houston.
She is buried in Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Tx. We have a copy of her death certificate.
